Electronics production in Greifswald

On 4 July 1969, the former VEB Schiffselektronik Greifswald started production.

On 1 January 1971, the company was renamed VEB Nachrichtenelektronik Greifswald and incorporated into Kombinat Nachrichtenelektronik.

Up to 2,600 employees developed and manufactured telecommunications technology and marine electronics at the site until 1991.

In 1991, Siemens AG took over the former GDR company and continued the telecommunications division as Siemens Übertragungssysteme Greifswald GmbH.

In 1993, the GmbH was fully integrated into the Group's ICN division.

In 2002, production was spun off as an independent company.

Since 1 October 2002, ml&s GmbH & Co. KG has been offering our portfolio as a full-service provider for the electronics industry – from printed circuit board assembly to the production and configuration of complex systems.

The newly built 9000 m² logistics centre was added in 2009.

In 2019, ml&s celebrated the 50-year success story of "Electronics production in Greifswald".
